On 15 April, H.E. Mr. Lameck Nthekela presented His Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Latvia H.E. Mr. Andris Bêrzinš, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Botswana to the Republic of Latvia.
During a meeting after the presentation of credentials ceremony, the President and the Ambassador discussed strengthening of bilateral relations between their two countries, trade and economic cooperation especially in areas such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, Information Communication Technology and mining technologies.
Ambassador Nthekela becomes Botswana's first envoy to the Republic of Latvia since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2003, with residency in Stockholm, Sweden.
