HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT TRAVELS TO LUANDA, ANGOLA, TO ATTEND 40TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

His Excellency the President, Lieutenant General Seretse Khama Ian Khama, will travel to Luanda, Republic of Angola on 11th November 2015, at the invitation of His Excellency JoseEduardo Dos Santos to attend the 40th Independence celebrations. His Excellency the President’s participation at this auspicious event a follows successful State Visit to Angola from 12-14 October 2015 where the two leaders held fruitful deliberations aimed at advancing bilateral relations and cooperation between Botswana and Angola.

Attainment of 40 years of self rule is important milestone in the history of Angola and also adds to the sub-regional success story of consolidation of peace and security through development of strong institutions of governance, democracy and respect for rule of law.

 

His Excellency the President will be accompanied by Honourable Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as well as Senior Government Officials. His Excellency the President and his delegation are expected to return to Gaborone on the same day of 11th November 2015.
