The Construction of the Kazungula Bridge, a multi-national and border crossing project over the Zambezi River between Zambia and Botswana has started. The Kazungula is a road and rail bridge project that will cost over 1-hundred and 61 million US dollars and is being implemented in three phases with the first phase being the construction of the bridge.
The contractor Daewoo Engineering has already erected a temporal bridge to pave the way for construction of main bridge.
The team leader of the Kazungula Bridge project consultant Kabamelo Kgoboko said slabs for the bridge have been made and more materials and staff have been beefed up to catch up with the contract schedule of the project which is expected to be completed in December.
