LAUNCH OF THE DISABILITY ENTREPRENUAL TRAINING PROGRAMME

The Office of the President in the collaboration with United Nations Development Programme will be undertaking an initiative aimed at empowering People with Disabilities with skills to engage in economic empowerment projects as well as changing the societal mindset with a view to promote access to equal opportunities for PWDs.

• The main objective is to promote active participation of People with Disabilities in the economic activities of the country. This view is premised in the belief that People with Disabilities are not clearly visible in the formal labour market due to, tough competition they faced as compared to their counter parts the able bodied

• Ensure that empowerment opportunities, programmes and schemes are inclusive and embrace people with disabilities as an integral part of our communities

• Enhance and strengthen the relationship between local service providers and people with disabilities within the district.

• Impart People with Disabilities with the knowledge and skills to empower themselves as this forum provide platform for sharing of ideas

This project will be launched in Boteti District on the 28th April 2016, at Letlhakane by the Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration Hon Dikgang Philip Makgalemele. The event will start at 8:30AM at Thakadu Lodge. After the launch, the project will be rolled to various districts nationwide.
