The Capacity Building and Skills Development Project was conceptualised as a result of the recommendations of the Mid-term Evaluation and the Sustainability Plan for the broader Tsodilo Community Development Project in 2013.
This is the realization that infrastructural developments should go hand in hand with skills capacity building that will drive operations at the facilities and other available opportunities in the region.
The objective of the project is to empower the youth in the communities around Tsodilo World Heritage Site by training them to acquire requisite skills that will position them to derive benefit from tourism activities around the site and the greater Okavango area.
It is also anticipated that the skills would also give them capacity to start small businesses that will cater for the tourism industry.
